Where we're all a bunch of Cinderella stories...
Every Tuesday evening around 5:30 p.m. (EST), a group of fun-loving, hack golfers get together at Deer Track Golf Course near Frankfort, Indiana to play nine holes of, what some call, golf. The rules are simple. Hit the ball, write down your own score, and have fun. Each person plays against his own handicap and the winner gets, ah, nothing.
Prizes are awarded for longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin. Play is rarely, if ever, called on account of inclement weather. Sometimes only 2 or 3 golfers show up, but sometimes we have as many as 15 join in the fun. Numerous times throughout the season, which runs from the 2nd Tuesday in April through the first Tuesday in September, miniature tournaments are held (see schedule under 'Scores' above). Regardless of the event, the intent is to have some fun while enjoying the company of other golfers on the course.
Of course, guests in our league are not only allowed, but very much encouraged. Guests need not "join" or pay the membership fee unless they like what they see and wish to come back. One favor, please, only bring guests on nights where we are not playing mini-tournaments. Thank you!
"Membership" in the league is a paltry $20. If you're interested in not taking yourself too seriously while enjoying a round of golf, we're just the group for you. Come on out and join us anytime!
